U.S. Indexes ended higher on Tuesday, as the artificial intelligence trade surged for a second straight session on enthusiasm around Anthropic’s long-awaited initial public offering filing. Investors also geared up for key quarterly reports this week from some Magnificent Seven firms that could give a clear read on the AI industry. Moreover, this evening will also see the Federal Reserve’s latest interest rate decision. The central bank is expected to hold rates steady and all eyes will be on Chair Kevin Warsh for any cues on further rate actions. “Yesterday’s market action tells you investors still want to own growth, despite value stocks outperforming recently. Falling oil is helping the macro backdrop, but the real engine remains AI,” King Lip, chief strategist and partner at BakerAvenue Wealth Management, told Investing.com. “Anthropic putting real numbers behind the AI boom has given investors another reason to believe this is more than a narrative. Its filing showed explosive revenue growth, but also enormous spending and losses, which makes this week’s Big Tech earnings even more important,” he added. The AI trade has been battered recently, sliding last week and dragging Wall Street lower. The decline has been due to a combination of factors, ranging from worries over Chinese competition to soaring borrowing costs. But one of the biggest drivers has been worries over the massive amounts of debt being issued by companies to fund their AI infrastructure buildouts. The AI space also saw a major development on Monday, after leading AI lab and Claude-developer Anthropic filed for an initial public offering (IPO). The regulatory filing highlighted the startup’s ambitious AI plans, as well as skyrocketing first-half revenue growth.  But the filing also underlined the steep costs associated with developing and scaling advanced AI models. The company’s net loss in the first six months of 2026 widened to about $80.7 billion.  Anthropic, which plans to trade under the ticker symbol ANT, is reportedly being valued at around $1.5 trillion, down from earlier projections of $2 trillion. Additionally, the filing consisted of more than 90 pages of risk factors, ranging from warnings about failing to continue to “develop the most advanced and capable AI models” to an inability “to secure sufficient compute.” Elsewhere, Oil closed lower by 2% while Gold ended Tuesday’s session with a 1% gain.
