Cash S&P 500
As I am a flight back to Dublin, today’s Daily Commentary is shorter than usual.
My S&P plan worked well as the market traded lower to my 4123-buy level before rallying to my revised 4134 T/P level and I am now flat. The VIX closed higher by 4% yesterday as my fears that the American Indexes are on the verge of a sustained sell-off. It will be interesting to see if this week’s 4173 high will in time prove significant. The S&P has resistance from 4145/4160. I will lower my sell level to this area with a 4175 ‘’Closing Stop’’. My only interest in buying the S&P is from 4082/4097 with a tight 4069 ‘’Closing Stop’’.
EUR/USD
No Change I am still flat. I will now raise my buy level to 1.0850/1.0920 with a higher 1.0885 ‘’Closing Stop’’. I still do not want to be short the Euro at this time.
June Dollar Index
No Change. I am still a buyer on any dip lower to 100.70/101.30 with the same 99.95 ‘’Closing Stop’’. I still do not want to be short the Dollar at this time.
Cash DAX
I am still flat as the DAX finally broke some technical levels yesterday. I will now lower my sell level to 15900/16000 with a lower 16105 ‘’Closing Stop’’. Given how overbought the DAX is trading I still do not want to be long the market at this time.
Cash FTSE
No Change. I am still short at an average rate of 7885 with the same 7830 T/P level. I will leave my 7975 ‘’Closing Stop’’ unchanged. If any of the above levels are hit I will be back with a new update for my Platinum Members.
Dow Rolling Contract
After the Dow hit my 33720 buy level we had a small bounce to an afternoon high at 33860. This move higher enabled me to cover this position at my revised 33810 T/P level and I am now flat. The Dow has support below from 33200/33450 where I will be a strong buyer with a 32995 wider ‘’Closing Stop’’ Until the Dow breaks and closes below its 50-Day Moving Average (33102) I have no interest in having a short position.
Cash NASDAQ 100
The NDX traded lower to my 12950-buy level before rallying to my 13025 revised T/P level and I am now flat. The NDX looks heavy. We have resistance from 13080/13230 where I will be a strong seller with a tight 13305 ‘’Closing Stop’’.
June BUND
The Bund rallied to my 133.70 T/P level on Wednesday’s 133.20 long position. I am now flat. The Bund closed higher at 134.11 as finally the 2.50% yield proves to be strong resistance for now. Today, I will be a buyer from 133.00/133.80 with a 132.35 ‘’Closing Stop’’.
Gold Rolling Contract
No Change. I am still a strong buyer from 1960/1975 with the same 1949 ‘’Closing Stop’’.
Silver Rolling Contract
No Change. I am still a buyer on any dip lower to 24.10/24.90 with a higher 23.35 ‘’Closing Stop’’.
